What do these terms on the lab results mean?Updated 5 hours ago
Lab reports can come with a few technical terms that aren’t always easy to understand. Here’s a quick breakdown of what you’ll see on our Danger Coffee test results:
ND / Not Detected
ND means “Not Detected.” This means the substance was not detected at or above the laboratory’s listed detection level.
In other words, the lab’s testing method did not find that compound at a concentration high enough to be reported.
mg/kg
Milligrams per kilogram, commonly referred to as parts per million (ppm).
This measurement tells you how many milligrams of a substance are present in one kilogram of the sample.
µg/L
Micrograms per liter, commonly referred to as parts per billion (ppb).
This measurement is used for our brewed coffee testing and tells you how many micrograms of a substance are present in one liter of liquid.
LOT
A lot refers to a specific purchase of green coffee beans.
We track our coffee by lot so we can connect the testing results back to the specific green beans used. Every roast produced from that lot carries the applicable green bean testing results.
