We proudly use the Swiss Water® Process to decaffeinate our coffee, a 100% chemical-free method that gently removes caffeine while preserving the rich flavor you love. This method uses Green Coffee Extract (GCE), a blend of pure water and the water-soluble compounds found in green coffee (minus the caffeine) to naturally draw caffeine out of the beans through diffusion.
Here’s a quick breakdown of what happens:
The green coffee beans are first cleaned and soaked. Then, they’re immersed in the GCE, which naturally causes the caffeine to migrate out of the beans. Once the beans are 99.9% caffeine-free, they’re dried and ready to be packaged and shipped. Meanwhile, the caffeine is removed from the GCE using carbon filtration, allowing it to be reused in the next decaf cycle.
